Schaferisms

Schafer has always been a funny kid, but throw in the fact that he's at that awesome preschool age where he can really put his thoughts into words and OH MY, THE FUNNY NEVER ENDS. I forget soooo many things, but I try and make notes in my cellphone and on facebook so I can remember at least some of his hilariousness at this age. I love him SO much.

"Hey mom? When I get bigger and bigger and bigger I will have hair on myself. And then I could carry Andy...and drink coffee, too!!!"

"Can I play with my GPS?" (He means Nintendo DSi...)

Me: Jabbering to Andy.
Schafer to me: "Why you speakin' baby??"

Schafer trying to get out of bed without getting in trouble, "Hey mom...I need to tell ya somethin'....k? I love you and uhhhh...well, I think you're cute."

Upon first meeting our elderly postman, Vernon, "Hey!!! I'm Schafer! What's your name? I like your shoes! Where did you get them?" (Vernon's shoes are from Lands' End, in case you're dying to know. Vernon is also visibly bummed when Schafer doesn't come to the door to accept a package.)

To our neighbor Oren who was working on his pickup, "Hey,that's a COOL engine." (Note, Oren now thinks Schafer is awesome.)

After towel drying Schafer's hair, post bath time, I tell him it looks like Justin Bieber. He looks confused and says, "WHAT is a Justin Beaver??"

He works words like humongous, scrumptious, interestin', frustrated, and ackCHOOwhee (actually) into conversations on a daily basis.

He was heartbroken when he threw himself off the small play set at my parent's house and was NOT able to fly, but instead hit the ground with a dream crushing thud. It was possibly one of the lowest moments of his life when I explained that he was not a superhero and the batman cape velcroed to his t-shirt was, sadly, not enough to make him ackCHOOwheee fly.

Sometimes it's hard being three, but mostly it's awesome.

AND, I forgot to add, M is TOTALLY all about saying "actually"... but when he says it to us, he is using it to CORRECT us. "Actually, Mom..." Agh!

April, that was a great post for starting the day. OKGRANNY sent me over from her blog. What an awesome guy Schafer is. I wish we had blog sites when my three guys were that young. It is hard to remember all the funnies during the day.

Oh April Sweetie...
Oklahoma Granny sent me by. I absolutely adore this share. How priceless are those photos? I thought the first one was precious and then that last one, Spiderman popped up, and that was it, he stole my heart.

So cute sweetie and absolutely precious words. He has quite the vocabulary for one so young. I can see why the mailman, and the neighbor love him so. He is precious.

Thank you for sharing sweetie. I am your newest follower Country Wings in Phoenix. Many country hugs, Sherry

Hello April,
I came your way via Oklahoma Granny. I can see why she linked us to you...You, my lady, are an awesome writer and listening to precious Schafer is like reliving my son's preschool years...he is 28 years old now...and his wife is a preschool teacher...that is the age she loves to teach even though she has her degree in elementary education. I too, wish they had blogging when my two children were young.I still have the super baby costume I made for my son at 9 months old...he was show and tell for halloween at my daughters first grade class....They loved him...his cape had a big s on it. They grow up way too fast....you are full of wisdom to write down the cute things they say.
I will be joining up to follow your blog so I can keep up with Schafer and Andy...I will remember that....one of my cats is named Andrew and I call him Andy Pandy in "baby talk"...lol
Have a wonderful weekend
hugs
Simply Debbie
